Terms and conditions of sale
1 – GENERAL PROVISIONS
Under no circumstances may the tenant claim any right to remain in the premises after the end of the period initially agreed in this contract.
2 – PAYMENT
The booking becomes effective once the tenant returns a copy of this contract together with the deposit (25% of the total amount) before the date indicated overleaf. The balance of the rental is paid on the day of arrival, after a joint check-in inventory has been carried out.
3 – SECURITY DEPOSIT
On arrival, the owner asks for a security deposit. Its amount may not exceed the total cost of the rental. The owner is entitled to cash the security deposit.
It is returned to the tenant after the joint check-out inventory, or sent within 7 days, minus, where necessary, the cost of restoring the premises and of replacing any items and equipment provided. This period may not exceed 60 days. If the deposit is insufficient, the tenant undertakes to pay the difference, on the basis of supporting documents provided by the owner.
4 – USE OF THE PREMISES
Check-in: from 4 pm / Check-out: by 11 am
The tenant shall use the rental peacefully and properly, in accordance with the intended use of the premises.
On departure, the tenant undertakes to leave the accommodation as clean as it was found on arrival.
The rental may under no circumstances be used by third parties.
The owner must provide accommodation that matches the description given and keep it in good working order.
5 – NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS
The number of guests may not exceed the capacity stated in the contract. However, the owner may allow a higher number. In that case, given the extra costs caused by the change in the number of occupants, a supplement may be charged in proportion to the number of people.
6 – INVENTORY
The inventory of the premises, furniture and equipment is carried out jointly by the owner at the beginning and end of the stay and is signed by both parties.
7 – CANCELLATION
Any cancellation must be notified as soon as possible.
The deposit will always be considered as forfeit money and will be deducted from the rental price. However, the deposit will not be considered as forfeit if the agreement is cancelled more than three months before the start of the rental.
If either party cancels the contract within the three months preceding the planned date of occupation, the following provisions apply:
– If the tenant cancels, the deposit will not be refunded.
– If the owner cancels, they will refund twice the amount of the deposit (article 1590 of the French Civil Code).
8 – EARLY DEPARTURE
If the tenant ends the stay early for reasons other than force majeure, no refund will be made, apart from the security deposit. Force majeure is recognised if the tenant can show a serious reason making it impossible to complete the rental. In that case, the owner may refund the sums already paid in proportion to the unused part of the stay.
9 – INSURANCE
The tenant must insure the premises entrusted or rented to them. They should check whether their home insurance policy covers holiday rentals. If not, they are advised to contact their insurer.
The owner may require a certificate of insurance or, failing that, a sworn statement.
10 – DISPUTES OR COMPLAINTS
Any complaint about the condition of the premises or the description of the rental must be made in writing within seven days of arrival. The owner and the tenant should seek an amicable settlement. For other disputes, the tenant may refer the matter, without time limit, to a representative body.
This is a translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version shall prevail.
